What services does Bee Write offer?

Bee Write is available for all of your professional writing needs, including peripheral services such as research and editing.  Bee Write specializes in business plans, speeches, business communication, annual reports, correspondence and much more.  The writers concentrate in one or more areas and the appropriate writer is matched with the project.

What are Bee Write’s fees?

Bee Write works primarily by retainer, but also by the hour or project.  Bee Write gives you an estimated time for your needs and works with you to ensure that fees are fair for all.

Does Bee Write work for contingency fees?

Grant writing fees contingent upon an awarded grant are generally unethical and, in some states, illegal.  Unless an RFP specifically states that grant writing costs are an eligible expense within the budget, it would be unethical to pay for these costs out of the awarded funds. 

What is Bee Write’s success rate with grant writing?

Bee Write prides itself in submitting accurate, well-planned, and timely grant proposals; however, a successful grant is dependent upon much more than the application itself.  The number of applications submitted, mood of the reviewers, geographic and political issues, reputation of the organization and many other factors not easily identifiable influence whether or not a grant will be funded. 

The more high quality applications you submit for different programs, the more grants you are likely to receive. Also, as you get proposals funded, funders are more likely to trust that you deserve their money. Over time, you should achieve a 25% - 50% success rate. If less than 25% of your proposals are being funded, you're probably doing something wrong (e.g., incomplete application packages, ineligible applicant, etc.).  Bee Write does not advocate applying for every grant deadline that is available for the sake of applying; a strategic grants plan should be in place to identify your needs and the best funding sources for those needs. 

Does Bee Write write grants for individuals or small businesses?

While there are exceptions, the vast majority of grants are made to nonprofit, 501(c)3 organizations, not individuals or businesses. If you are an artist, however, you may qualify for certain grants and low interest loans. You should contact your local city or county community arts organization which will have the resources to guide you appropriately. Regarding businesses, unless you have a highly specialized research enterprise, you are very unlikely to find any grant funds. Retail, Internet, consultants, and home business startups are generally not eligible for grant funds.

Does Bee Write have a relationship with funders?

Bee Write does not have any particular relationships with funders and never attempts to influence funding decisions through lobbying efforts. Foundations typically do not know about our association and we are transparent in the proposal development process. Our goal is to prepare high quality, technically correct proposals, enabling our clients to be considered for funding.

Does Bee Write provide a nonprofit discount?

Bee Write’s fees are the same for all clients, including nonprofits, since they make up a large percentage of our clients. We work for non-profits whose missions resonate with us, but we do not donate our services.
